DMT is a hallucinogenic tryptamine substance known as N-dimethyltryptamine in the medical community. This substance, also known as Dimitri, has psychedelic effects similar to LSD and magic mushrooms.
What Does it Feel Like?
When it comes to the effects of DMT, no two users are going to experience it the same way. Some people say they have a great time. Whereas for others, the experience can be overwhelming or even terrifying. Some people say they feel as if they’re speeding through a tunnel of dazzling lights and shapes when it comes to explaining the substances euphoric effects. It’s not uncommon for people to talk about having out-of-body experiences and feeling like they’ve transformed into something else. Others claimed to have been to other worlds and interacted with elf-like creatures. DMT’s comedown can also leave some people feeling a little jittery.
How is it Used?
The most common form of synthetic DMT is a white crystallized powder. It can be injected, inhaled, vaporized, or smoked. DMT can also be found in some amazonian plants and vines, which can be boiled together to make a tea-like beverage, utilized in religious ceremonies. The duration of a DMT trip is very subjective; although they don’t normally last very long, people say they feel like they have been gone for hours. Many factors influence the intensity and length of a DMT experience, including:
- How much of it do you actually utilize
- How it’s used
- Whether or not you’ve eaten
- If you’ve ever taken any other drugs
- Recreational DMT’s effects typically last between 30 and 45 minutes.
- It can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours when taken in the form of an ayahuasca brew.
When Using DMT, Keep These Tips in Mind:
- Do not rely solely on DMT for your psychoactive needs. It would help if you did it with individuals you trust.
- Take precautions to ensure that at least one sober individual is available to intervene if necessary.
- Pay attention to the environment. Ensure that it is used in a safe and comfortable environment that you are relaxed in.
- Sit down. When you’re tripping, sit or lie down to lessen the chance of a fall or injury.
- Keep things as simple as possible. Make sure you don’t mix DMT with any other substances, such as alcohol.
- Pick the right day. When using DMT, the effects might be rather strong. As a result, it works best when you’re already feeling upbeat.
- Antidepressants, cardiac conditions, and high blood pressure should all be avoided when taking DMT.
